Replacement for micronized maize
Our maize sticks are made with a blend of maize, bran, zeolite, and apple concentrate. While they are not a completely balanced diet, they’re a great snack that your birds will enjoy. We also use them as an ingredient in our Avian Deluxe and Avian Wholegrain food products, which provide a healthy and balanced diet for pet birds.
The heat treatment process used to create the pellets is key to making our maize sticks easily digestible.
The heating process also creates a crunchy texture that birds love. Texture is just as important as taste for our feathered friends. That’s why our maize sticks are 6mm thick, giving birds a variety of sizes to hold in their claws. We’ve found that birds love to play with their food and that a variety of textures keeps them interested and engaged.
One of the most exciting things you can do with our maize sticks is to add boiling water to them. Mix the water through and let it cool down to create a crumbly, mushy product that birds love to play with and eat. It’s a great way to provide some variety in your bird’s diet and keep them entertained!
