Refund policy
Our return policy extends for 7 days following the reception of your item. Within this period, you are welcome to request a return.
To qualify for a return, your item should be:
- In the identical condition in which it was delivered to you.
- Unutilized, with all tags, product seals, and other such indicators of newness intact.
- Housed within its original packaging.
Please ensure you have a receipt or proof of purchase available. Please be advised that products with opened, used, or broken factory seals can no longer be sold as "new". Each return request is assessed individually, and certain items may not be eligible for return due to their nature, use, and condition.
Please note: a change of mind is not a legal reason to return an item for a refund demand.
If you're considering a return, we want to make the process as straightforward as possible for you. Here's how you can return an item to us:
- Check Eligibility: Ensure your return meets our criteria - the item must be returned within 7 days of receipt, must be in its original, undamaged condition, unused, and contained in its original packaging with all tags, seals and labels attached.
- Contact Us: Before sending anything back, please contact Jungle Aquatics directly. This step is crucial as it confirms your eligibility for a return based on our criteria. You can reach out to us via email with the details of the item you wish to return.
- Provide Details and Photos: In your email, include details of the item and the reason for the return. Attach clear pictures of the item to demonstrate its condition, ensuring it meets our return standards.
- Log Your Return and Arrange Return Shipping: You are responsible for arranging the return shipping, including covering the costs for suitable packaging to ensure the item arrives back to us in good condition. It's important to choose a reliable shipping method with tracking to safeguard against loss or damage during transit. If you require an assisted return through our courier network, select this option on the returns page.

Upon approval of your return, you may send back the item in the same condition as it was received. While we do offer assisted returns through our courier network, please be informed that this service incurs a charge that will be billed to your account. Returns that are not pre-approved will not be processed.
Damages and Issues:
Upon receipt of your order, promptly inspect your items. If you encounter any defects or damages, or if you've received the wrong item, kindly notify us immediately. We will then evaluate the issue and take corrective measures. We are not able to claim, or entertain any reported damages 24hrs after delivery. It is crucial for the consumer to conduct a thorough inspection and report any issues within this 24-hour window to ensure a swift resolution. Please be aware that beyond this timeframe, we are not legally obligated to address claims, as attributing the cause of damages becomes speculative. Additionally, it's important to note that some couriers mandate the reporting of damages at the time of delivery. Acceptance of the delivery receipt is an acknowledgment that the items were received in good condition, and any subsequent claims may not be recognized.
Exceptions / Non-returnable Items:
Certain goods, such as perishable items (food, livestock, or plants), custom products, and special order items (products that we do not typically stock in-store and must be specially ordered from the supplier), cannot be returned. These items are normally indicated as pre-orders/special orders on our website. Additionally, we cannot accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please contact us if you need clarification about the return eligibility of a specific item.
Sale items, gift cards, or any product with broken original packaging or factory seal are non-returnable. As a consumer, it's your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the product's functionalities before making a purchase. Jungle Aquatics holds no liability for the malfunction of a product due to unfamiliarity.
Product Warranty:
Notwithstanding any other provision of this agreement, the warranty for electronic products provided herein is subject to final approval by the supplier and is significantly influenced by the operational environment within the Republic of South Africa. Due to the inconsistent power supply, frequent power outages (commonly referred to as load shedding), and potential power surges within the grid, standard manufacturer warranties, including any claims made on product packaging or within product inserts, shall not apply to the South African market.
In recognition of these unique circumstances, the suppler/manufacturer will offer a limited warranty period of six (6) months from the date of purchase for electronic products sold within the South African market. This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period.
It is imperative to note that any modification to the electronic product, or its plug or evidence of tampering will immediately void this warranty. This includes, but is not limited to, cutting, altering, or in any way changing the plug.
Customers seeking warranty service must comply with the warranty claims process as outlined, which includes providing proof of purchase, a detailed description of the issue, and compliance with any other requests for information or actions deemed necessary by the supplier to review the warranty claim.
The supplier/manufacturer reserves the right to repair or replace the defective product with a new or refurbished product, and also reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether the warranty criteria are met and whether the warranty claim shall be honored.
This warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from misuse, abuse, accidents, alterations, exposure to corrosive conditions, foreign objects entering the device, or use not in accordance with the product instructions.
Exchanges:
To swiftly secure the item you want, return the current item first. Once your return is approved, you will receive a credit code. Use this code to make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds:
We will inform you after receiving and inspecting your return, confirming whether a refund is approved. If approved, your refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method, less a 15% refund fee. Please note, exchanges or store credit do not incur additional fees. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. It may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
