API Nitrate Test Kit for Fresh and Saltwater is used to measure nitrate levels in aquariums to ensure they are safe and healthy for fish and invertebrates.

High nitrate levels in your aquarium indicate a build-up of fish waste and organic compounds, resulting in poor water quality and an increase in algae growth. Contrarily, maintaining a low nitrate level improves the health of fish and invertebrates.

Use the API® NITRATE TEST KIT to ensure that the nitrate levels in your tank are safe and healthy for your fish. The NITRATE TEST KIT reads parameters from 0 to 160 ppm and may be used for both fresh and saltwater aquariums.

Are high nitrate levels harmful to fish?

High nitrate is harmful to fish but is significantly less toxic than ammonia or nitrite. Effects of high nitrate levels are more gradual if parameters go untreated – fish will eventually lose their appetite and grow sluggish and inactive over time. High nitrate also contributes to rapid algae blooms in aquariums.

How often should I use API NITRATE TEST KIT?

Use API NITRATE TEST KIT weekly or bi-weekly to ensure your nitrate levels are safe for fish, or whenever you suspect you may have high nitrate levels in your tank.

No more waiting at home or at work for your delivery. Simply choose a collection locker or pickup point and collect your order when it suits you.

Delivery times to lockers and pickup locations typically range from 2–7 working days, depending on your location.*

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.
• Pargo Pickup Points: Collect within 5 days of arrival at the pickup location.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 14 days before being returned.

Please ensure you collect your parcel within the applicable collection period. Uncollected parcels will be returned to the sender, and additional shipping charges may apply should the order need to be resent.
