Frequently Asked Questions

Will this lid stop my fish from jumping out?
The lid covers the top of the tank, which helps prevent fish and shrimp from jumping out. Fish that jump tend to do so when startled, so a cover is a sensible precaution.

Does an aquarium lid really reduce evaporation?
Yes. Covering the top of the tank reduces the amount of water lost to evaporation, which is useful in the warmer South African months.

How does the lid protect my light?
It sits between the water and the light, helping to keep the light from getting wet.

Why choose acrylic instead of glass?
Acrylic is lightweight, easy to clean and costs less. It is also generally unbreakable compared with glass and allows more light to penetrate through the lid.

Can I use it on a shrimp tank?
Yes. The lid is designed to keep shrimp, as well as fish, from jumping out of the tank.

How do I choose the right size?
The lid comes in several sizes. Check the options available and choose the one that suits the top of your tank.
