Description
Neptune Magnetic Probe Rack
The Neptune Magnetic Probe Rack is a magnetic probe holder that keeps up to four aquarium probes secure in one spot on your sump or tank. It suits reef and marine keepers running Neptune Apex monitoring who want their temperature, pH, ORP and salinity probes held neatly in place.
Key Benefits
- Holds up to four probes in a single, tidy position, including temperature, pH, ORP and salinity probes.
- One hole is slightly oversized to take larger probes, such as the Neptune temperature probe.
- Strong neodymium magnets grip the glass, so the rack stays put once positioned.
- Helps prevent a loose probe from floating up with its business end exposed to air, which can cause a false reading.
- Acrylic construction.
How to Use
Place the rack on your sump or aquarium glass and the magnets hold it in position. Slot your probes into the holes so they are all kept together in one spot instead of lying loose in the water. Use the slightly oversized hole for the larger-diameter probe, such as the temperature probe.
Suitable For
- Sumps and aquariums with glass up to 12.7 mm (1/2") thick.
- Aquarists who want temperature, pH, ORP and salinity probes held securely in one place.
Compatibility
Neptune Systems designed the Magnetic Probe Rack (MPR) specifically for the Apex. It holds the larger-diameter temperature probe as well as the pH, ORP and salinity probes.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many probes can the rack hold?
It holds up to four probes, including temperature, pH, ORP and salinity probes.
Will it fit the larger Neptune temperature probe?
Yes. One of the holes is slightly oversized to take larger probes like the Neptune temperature probe.
How thick can the glass be?
The rack works on sumps and aquariums with glass up to 12.7 mm (1/2") thick.
Why do probes need to be held in place?
A loose probe can float with its business end exposed to the air, which can give a false reading. The rack keeps all your probes secure in one spot.
What is the rack made from?
It is made from acrylic and uses strong neodymium magnets to hold onto the glass.
Was it designed for a particular system?
Yes. Neptune Systems designed it specifically for the Apex.
