Importance of pH Balance for Koi Fish

Maintaining the correct pH level is essential for the health, color, and overall well-being of koi fish. Koi have an average blood pH of approximately 7.4, which means pond water should be kept as close to this level as possible to support normal biological functions.

Sudden or extreme pH fluctuations—especially outside the safe range of 6.5 to 9.0—can cause significant stress to koi. Prolonged exposure to unstable or incorrect pH levels may lead to weakened immunity, reduced appetite, poor growth, and increased susceptibility to disease.

Low pH levels are particularly harmful to koi coloration. Acidic water negatively affects Hi (red patterns) and Sumi (black pigmentation), causing colors to appear dull, weak, and faded over time. When pH is not properly balanced, even high-quality koi may gradually lose their vibrant appearance.

Using pH-balancing products helps stabilize water conditions, reduce stress, and maintain optimal pond health. A well-balanced pH environment allows koi to thrive, supports strong coloration, and promotes long-term vitality.

• If the pH levels fluctuate drastically, outside of the acceptable range of 6.5 to 9.0, this can cause great stress to the fish.
• If this is the case, adding products to the water to balance the pH levels would be a great help.
• With Low Ph it will have negative impact on the Hi(red pattern) as-well as the SUMI  the colour pattern will not stay as strong and it will tend to fade as time goes by.

Delivery times to lockers and pickup locations typically range from 2–7 working days, depending on your location.*

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.
• Pargo Pickup Points: Collect within 5 days of arrival at the pickup location.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 14 days before being returned.

Please ensure you collect your parcel within the applicable collection period. Uncollected parcels will be returned to the sender, and additional shipping charges may apply should the order need to be resent.
