Aquaforest Magnesium Dry
Aquaforest Magnesium Dry is used to maintain proper magnesium levels in reef aquaria, supporting coral development and stabilizing calcium and alkalinity.
Magnesium is an essential part of coral development and water chemistry. Magnesium has multiple roles in the reef tank, most notably its ability to let calcium and alkalinity become supersaturated and keeping them steady and balanced. Dry Magnesium additives are very cost-effective and when mixed into a solution can be just as good or better than liquid additives.
Lowered magnesium levels may cause an inability to maintain proper calcium levels and too low pH. The recommended level of magnesium in reef aquaria is 1180-1460 mg/l (ppm).
Aquaforest Magnesium Dry can be mixed with Calcium Dry to create a solution that when dosed will maintain proper calcium and magnesium levels with a single dosing pump.
Magnesium Dry can be used with:
- SPS corals
- LPS Corals
- Soft Corals
- Clams
Instructions:
Dissolve 10 g in 1000 ml RODI water. Dosage should be determined by your water test results and corals daily consumption.
Before applying Magnesium solution into the water, it is recommended to run a water test to check current water parameters.
100 ml of Magnesium solution in 100 l of water raises Magnesium level by 1,2 mg/l (ppm). It is not recommended to raise Magnesium levels by more than 50 ppm daily.
It is highly recommended to add calcium solution slowly to a high-flow area of the tank to help reduce any precipitation.
In order to maintain ionic balance KH Buffer and Reef Mineral Salt should also be applied. Magnesium and Calcium or Reef Mineral Salt can be combined together into one solution.
