Aquazoi Alg Clean Pond Algae Remover

Aquazoi Alg Clean Pond Algae Remover

Aquazoi Alg Clean Pond Algae Remover is an industrial-strength algae treatment that treats and eliminates algae in ponds, water features, dams and wetlands. It is formulated for South African conditions and made for koi keepers, water-feature owners and landowners whose water has become overrun with algae that ordinary maintenance can no longer control.

Algae thrive in South Africa's long sunny days, warm summers and nutrient-rich run-off. Green water, stringy growth and surface mats can take over a garden pond or farm dam quickly. Alg Clean is designed for that situation. It is a concentrated pond algaecide that works on established algae and also helps clear the water so your filter can do its job.

Key Benefits

• Kills algae: Alg Clean is formulated to kill algae in heavily affected bodies of water.
• Industrial strength: It is concentrated enough for large volumes, from garden ponds up to dams and wetlands.
• Built for local conditions: The formula is developed for South African water and climate.
• Safe for the surroundings: Aquazoi states that Alg Clean is safe for humans, pets, wildlife and plants when used as directed.
• Environmentally friendly: The manufacturer describes it as 100% environmentally friendly.
• Flocculates water: It clumps fine suspended particles together so they can settle out or be trapped, which helps clear cloudy water.
• Softens water: It softens the water, making it easier to filter.

How to Use

• Work out the volume of water to be treated as accurately as possible before you dose.
• Dilute Alg Clean with pond water according to the specification.
• Distribute the diluted solution evenly over the water surface. It works better spread across the whole surface than poured in one spot.
• As a first step, you can spray Alg Clean directly onto visible algae.
• Where the organic load is high, such as with heavy algae, decaying leaves or sludge, more than one dose may be needed.

Dosage

• 20ml per 1000 litres of water.
• 1 litre of Alg Clean treats 50,000 litres of water.
• Calculate your pond volume in litres with this formula: Length (in metres) x Breadth (in metres) x Average Depth (in metres) x 1000.
• DO NOT OVERDOSE. Although Alg Clean is environmentally friendly, an overdose can harm aquatic life. Always dose against an accurate volume rather than an estimate.

Suitable For

• Any body of water where algae have become prevalent and uncontrollable.
• Koi ponds.
• Garden water features.
• Breeding ponds.
• Dams.
• Wetlands.

Compatibility

• If you have used any other medication or algaecide in the water within the last 7 to 14 days, DO NOT DOSE with Alg Clean before consulting your distributor.
• Alg Clean's water-softening and flocculating action helps your filtration system by making suspended matter easier to remove.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much Alg Clean do I need for my pond?
The dose is 20ml per 1000 litres. For example, a pond measuring 5 m x 3 m with an average depth of 1 m holds 5 x 3 x 1 x 1000 = 15,000 litres, which needs 300ml of Alg Clean.

Is Alg Clean safe for my koi and other pond fish?
Aquazoi states that Alg Clean is safe for humans, pets, wildlife and plants, and it is recommended for koi and breeding ponds. Overdosing can harm aquatic life, though, so measure your water volume carefully and stick to 20ml per 1000 litres.

Can I use it in a farm dam or wetland?
Yes. Alg Clean is an industrial-strength treatment suitable for dams and wetlands as well as ponds and water features. At 1 litre per 50,000 litres, it is practical for large volumes.

Why is my water still green after one dose?
Ponds with a high organic load, such as heavy algae, fallen leaves or sludge, may need multiple doses. Spraying the algae directly first and spreading the diluted dose evenly over the surface helps it work more effectively.

I recently treated my pond with something else. Can I add Alg Clean?
If any other medication or algaecide has been used within the past 7 to 14 days, do not dose Alg Clean before consulting your distributor.

Will Alg Clean help with cloudy water as well?
Yes. Alg Clean flocculates the water and softens it, which helps fine particles clump together and makes the water easier to filter.
