Dymax Scaping Spray Adhesive 400g
Dymax Scaping Spray Adhesive is a quick-activating hardscape spray adhesive in a 400 g (14.1 oz) can, made for building paludariums, terrariums and vertical gardens. It lets you fix driftwood, rock, coconut husk and moss in place, even on vertical surfaces, without holding each piece for hours while it sets. It suits hobbyists creating gravity-defying landscapes and natural-looking backwalls.
Key Benefits
- Fast activation: the foam becomes tacky and ready for bonding in roughly 10 to 30 seconds, so you can keep building without long waits.
- Versatile bonding: attaches driftwood, horn wood, coconut husk, rocks and even plastic spray bars.
- Natural-looking finish: the foam is white and translucent, so it blends into the scape more easily than dark, industrial foams and is simpler to hide under moss or substrate.
- Made for vertical work: gives firm support to plants and hardscape pieces on vertical surfaces, which makes it handy for background walls.
- Good coverage: the 400 g canister has ample capacity for medium to large projects.
- Hides equipment: bonds to plastic spray bars and filtration outlets, so you can conceal unsightly kit behind natural materials.
- Made for planted, moist setups: manufactured by Dymax for paludariums, terrariums and aquascaping environments containing plants and moisture.
How to Use
- Shake well: shake the can vigorously before use so the components are properly mixed.
- Prepare the surface: make sure the surface you are applying to is dry.
- Spray: hold the can 15–20 cm (6–8") from the target area. The foam becomes tacky and ready for bonding in roughly 10–30 seconds.
- Maintain the nozzle (crucial step): after every use, turn the can upside down and spray for 2–3 seconds. This clears the nozzle and prevents blockage for future use.
- If the nozzle does block, whether from weather conditions or dried residue, place the nozzle in warm water at approx. 35°C (95°F) for around 5 seconds to clear it.
Suitable For
- Paludariums: securing land areas and waterfalls.
- Terrariums: mounting epiphytes and moss on backwalls.
- Vertical gardens: creating lush, living walls.
- Aquascaping projects that call for attaching hardscape or plants where gravity would otherwise get in the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
What colour is the adhesive foam?
The spray produces a white, translucent foam. This light colour is easier to hide with moss or substrate than black expanding foams.
How long does the foam take to become ready for bonding?
Roughly 10 to 30 seconds after spraying from a distance of 15–20 cm (6–8"). Apply it to a dry surface for best results.
My nozzle is blocked. What should I do?
If the nozzle is blocked by weather conditions or dried residue, place it in warm water at approx. 35°C (95°F) for around 5 seconds to clear it. To avoid blockages, turn the can upside down and spray for 2–3 seconds after every use.
Can it be used on plastic?
Yes. It bonds to plastic spray bars and filtration outlets, so you can hide equipment behind natural materials such as driftwood or coconut husk.
Which materials can I attach with it?
Driftwood, horn wood, coconut husk and rocks, as well as plastic spray bars. It also gives firm support to plants and hardscape on vertical surfaces.
Is it suitable for my planted setup?
Yes. Dymax manufactures this adhesive for use in paludariums, terrariums and aquascaping environments containing plants and moisture.
