Frequently Asked Questions

Is Echinodorus Reni suitable for beginners?

Echinodorus Reni is rated as medium difficulty. While not the easiest plant to keep, it can be successfully maintained by beginners willing to provide medium lighting and CO2 injection. With consistent care, even newer hobbyists can achieve great results.

Does Echinodorus Reni require CO2 injection?

CO2 injection is recommended for Echinodorus Reni to achieve optimal growth and colouration. While it may survive without CO2, the plant will grow more slowly and may not display its best colours. A pressurised CO2 system with a diffuser is ideal.

Where should I place Echinodorus Reni in my aquarium?

Echinodorus Reni is best suited for midground placement in your aquarium. It grows to a maximum height of approximately 25cm, so plan your aquascape layout accordingly. Pair it with contrasting plants in other areas to create depth and visual interest.

What is a tissue culture plant and how do I plant it?

Tissue culture plants are laboratory-grown specimens free from pests, algae, and snails. To plant your Echinodorus Reni, remove the cup lid, gently rinse off the nutrient gel under running water, and separate the plant into small portions. Plant each portion into your substrate using tweezers for best results.

How fast does Echinodorus Reni grow?

Echinodorus Reni has a medium growth rate. Regular trimming will help maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Ensure adequate lighting and nutrients to support healthy development.
