Hailea HS Series Aquarium Chillers
Hailea HS Series Aquarium Chillers are quiet, reliable aquarium chillers that cool the water in indoor freshwater and marine aquariums. The range suits hobbyists who want steady temperature control for a tank, from a compact setup to a large display aquarium.
Key Benefits
- Quiet, dependable cooling for indoor aquarium water control.
- Strong metal chassis that helps the unit run quietly.
- Digital LCD control display for easy control of water temperature (3 Centigrade min.).
- Titanium heat exchanger, suitable for both fresh and marine water.
- Environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant.
- Contemporary housing that doesn't look out of place in a living space.
- An economical option: the manufacturer says these chillers cost less than other chillers of the same power.
- Can be powered by a water pump or power filter.
- 12 months warranty.
HS Series vs HC Series
The HS chiller runs more quietly than the HC chiller and has superior heat dissipation. Its design is more streamlined, with reduced length and width. It stands significantly taller than an HC chiller of equivalent power, so before upgrading from an HC model, check that the HS unit will fit your aquarium cabinet.
Important Note
These chillers can cool aquarium water to 18 degrees Celsius. They are not intended for "plunge" or "ice bath" applications and are designed specifically for aquarium cooling.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use an HS Series chiller on a marine tank?
Yes. The titanium heat exchanger is suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums.
How low can the chiller cool my aquarium water?
These chillers can cool aquarium water to 18 degrees Celsius. The control display works in a minimum step of 3 Centigrade.
How long does it take to cool a tank from 28 to 18 degrees Celsius?
The rated figures are based on 20 hours of continuous operation: 160 litres for the HS-28A, 250 litres for the HS-52A, 300 litres for the HS-66A and 500 litres for the HS-90A.
Can I use it for an ice bath or plunge cooling?
No. These chillers are designed specifically for aquarium cooling and are not intended for "plunge" or "ice bath" applications.
I'm upgrading from an HC chiller. What should I check first?
Check your cabinet dimensions. The HS chiller has a smaller length and width than an HC chiller of equivalent power, but it is significantly taller.
Which model should I choose?
Match the model to your aquarium's water volume using the "Water refrigerated" range: 50~400L for the HS-28A, 100~600L for the HS-52A, 100~800L for the HS-66A and 200~1200L for the HS-90A. Also check the rate of flow and the physical size against your cabinet space.
