Laxapet 50g is a malt-based laxative gel for dogs and cats, made to ease constipation and to help deal with hairball impaction in cats. The fish-oil flavour is tasty enough that most pets take it readily, so dosing is simple for South African pet owners.

How to Use

• Because the gel is so tasty, you can offer it directly from your finger.
• If your pet does not like licking it off your finger, apply it to the nose or front paws and your pet will simply lick it off.
• For cats that often struggle with hairballs, combine Laxapet with a hairball preventative food.

Dosage

• Cats: 2.5 to 5 g per day for two to three days, then 1 to 2.5 g three times weekly for prevention. 2.5 g is about 5-6 cm of gel squeezed out of the tube.
• Dogs: 5 to 10 g per day for two to three days, then 2 to 5 g three times weekly. 5 g is about 10-12 cm of gel squeezed out of the tube.

Can I use Laxapet for both dogs and cats?
Yes. It is formulated for both species, but the amounts differ: cats get 2.5 to 5 g per day at first, dogs 5 to 10 g per day.

My pet won't lick the gel off my finger. What can I do?
Apply the gel to your pet's nose or front paws. Most pets will simply lick it off.

How much gel is 2.5 g or 5 g?

How long do I give the higher daily dose?
For both cats and dogs the starting daily dose is given for two to three days. After that, the amount drops to a smaller dose three times a week.

• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
