Prestige Australian Parakeet 1kg

Prestige Australian Parakeet 1kg

Versele-Laga Prestige Australian Parakeet is a complete, balanced seed mix for cockatiels, budgies, conures and mini-macaws, the birds collectively known as Australian parakeets. Each 1 kg pack combines a wide variety of quality seeds with V.A.M. pellets that supply vitamins, amino acids and minerals. It is a dependable everyday staple for South African bird keepers who want a seed-based diet built around how these parakeets feed naturally.

Australian parakeets come from the arid parts of Australia, where seeds make up most of what they eat. Versele-Laga has selected the seeds in this Prestige mix to match the natural food of the various Australian parakeet types. The result is a tailored blend that suits the seed-loving habits of your aviary or cage birds while adding nutrition a plain seed mix can lack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I feed this mix to my budgies as well as my cockatiels?
Yes. Budgies and cockatiels are both Australian parakeets, and this mix is formulated for them, along with conures and mini-macaws. The seeds are selected to match the natural food of these different species.

What are V.A.M. pellets?
V.A.M. stands for vitamins, amino acids and minerals. These enriched pellets are blended into the seed so your birds receive these nutrients as part of their daily food, which makes the mix a complete, balanced diet.

Why is oyster shell included in the mix?
Versele-Laga adds oyster shell to support good stomach muscle function and to help achieve the right calcium–phosphorus ratio in the diet.

Do my parakeets still need fresh fruit and vegetables?
Seeds are the primary diet of Australian parakeets, which originate from Australia's arid regions. They also enjoy a few fruit and vegetables, so offering some alongside this mix adds variety.

Does the mix contain sunflower seeds?
Yes. It contains both striped and white sunflower seeds, along with 13 other seeds and grains, including millets, canary seed, peeled oats, safflower, hempseed, linseed and niger seed.
