Prestige Canary Premium 800g

Prestige Canary Premium 800g

Versele-Laga Prestige Canary Premium is an enriched seed mixture for canaries, made to keep them fit and healthy and to support their singing. It combines a seed base with fruit pellets, VAM pellets, chia seeds and cleaned oyster shells. It suits South African canary keepers who want a complete daily mix in an 800 g (1.8 lb) pack.

Canaries are loved for their beauty, their wide range of colours and their song. Only the males produce that sweet, full song, while females tend to chirp. Whichever you keep, this Versele-Laga Prestige mix supplies the extra nutritional elements a canary needs to look its best and stay in good condition. For males, it also helps support their singing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this food make my female canary sing?
No. Only male canaries sing, while females chirp. The mix is designed to support the singing abilities of males and the overall fitness and condition of all canaries.

What are VAM pellets?
VAM stands for Vitamins, Amino Acids and Minerals. These pellets add nutrients to the seed mix and also contain Florastimul, which supports optimal digestion and condition.

Why are oyster shells included in a canary seed mix?
The cleaned oyster shells help the gizzard work properly. The mix is also formulated with the correct calcium/phosphorus balance.

What do the chia seeds add?
Chia seeds provide extra omega-3 fatty acids, on top of the mix's high protein and energy content.

Can I keep two male canaries together?
No. Male canaries should not be housed together. Canaries should still live with at least one other canary, and preferably more.
