Description
Description
Red Sea KH Coralline Gro
Red Sea KH Coralline Gro is a marine aquarium alkalinity supplement that supplies a complex of carbonate buffers, potassium and trace elements. It suits hobbyists cycling a new marine aquarium and those who want ongoing support in a fish-only or soft coral system. It comes in a 500 ml bottle.
Key Benefits
- Provides carbonate buffers, potassium and trace elements such as iron in one complex.
- Formulated in the ratio that coralline algae take up regularly.
- Works as the buffer supplement during the cycling of a new marine aquarium.
- Gives ongoing support in fish-only and soft coral systems.
- Uses a simple test-and-adjust routine based on your own alkalinity readings.
How to Use
Use this supplement instead of regular buffer supplements (such as Red Sea Reef Foundation B) while cycling any new marine aquarium. Keep using it on an ongoing basis in fish-only or soft coral systems.
If you also use other supplements that contain potassium or iron (such as Red Sea Coral Colors B and C), dose them only according to a measured uptake of each element. Do not use this product together with Red Sea Reef Foundation ABC+.
Dosage
- Make sure alkalinity is at optimal values first. Then run the aquarium for 4 days at a stable salinity, topping up for evaporation daily, without adding any supplements.
- At the end of the 4 days, test alkalinity and calculate the 4-day dosage needed to bring it back to optimal levels. Add that 4-day dosage to the system.
- Divide the 4-day dosage by 4 and use the result as the daily dosage for the next week.
- After a week of daily dosing, test alkalinity again and calculate the adjusting dosage needed to return to optimal levels.
- If the adjusting dosage is significantly different from the previous daily dosage, increase or decrease the daily dosage as appropriate.
- If the measured level is above optimal, wait for the excess to be depleted before restarting daily supplementation with the amended daily dosage.
- Keep testing alkalinity every week and adjust the daily dosage as required.
- If you miss one or more days, add the full amount you missed, but do not exceed the maximum recommended daily increase.
Suitable For
- New marine aquariums that are being cycled.
- Fish-only marine systems.
- Soft coral systems.
Compatibility
- Use instead of regular buffer supplements such as Red Sea Reef Foundation B.
- Not for use in conjunction with Red Sea Reef Foundation ABC+.
- Other potassium- or iron-containing supplements, such as Red Sea Coral Colors B and C, should be dosed only according to a measured uptake of each element.
Specifications
- Composition: a complex of carbonate buffers, potassium and trace elements such as iron.
- Formulated in the ratio regularly taken up by coralline algae.
What's Included
- 1 x 500 ml (16.9 fl oz) bottle
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Coralline Gro while cycling a new marine tank?
Yes. It should be used instead of regular buffer supplements such as Reef Foundation B during the cycling of all new marine aquariums.
Can I use it with Reef Foundation ABC+?
No. Coralline Gro should not be used in conjunction with Reef Foundation ABC+.
Can I add Coral Colors B and C alongside it?
Only according to a measured uptake of each element. Coralline Gro already supplies potassium and iron, so other supplements containing them should be dosed only as measured.
How long before I start dosing?
First make sure alkalinity is at optimal values. Then run the tank for 4 days at a stable salinity with no supplements, topping up for evaporation daily. After that, test alkalinity and calculate the 4-day dosage.
What if I miss a day?
Add the full amount you missed, but do not exceed the maximum recommended daily increase.
How often should I test alkalinity?
Test every week and adjust the daily dosage as needed. If the level is above optimal, wait for the excess to be depleted before restarting the amended daily dosage.
