Seachem Equilibrium is a planted aquarium mineral and general hardness (GH) supplement for aquarists using reverse osmosis (RO), deionised (DI) or other mineral-deficient water. It helps restore essential mineral and electrolyte content when setting up a planted tank or preparing new water for water changes.

How to Use

Add Equilibrium to new water when setting up an aquarium or carrying out water changes. For improved solubility, mix the required amount with 1 L (1 qt.) of water before adding it to the aquarium. The mixture will appear white and opaque, and may create a slight haze in the aquarium that should clear within 15–30 minutes.

Dosage

To raise mineral content/general hardness by 1 meq/L (3 dH), add 16 g (1 tablespoon) for every 80 L (20 US gallons). This dosage is based on RO or DI water. When using other water sources, measure GH first and dose according to need.

• Planted freshwater aquariums.
• Aquariums filled with RO or DI water.
• Mineral-deficient water used for aquarium water changes.

Compatibility

Plant requirements vary, but a general GH guide is 1–2 meq/L (3–6 dH). This may be matched to the existing or target KH, ideally 1–2 meq/L (3–6 dKH). To maintain KH, Seachem recommends Alkaline Buffer.

Can I use Seachem Equilibrium with RO water?
Yes. Equilibrium is ideally suited to RO and DI water, which can be mineral-deficient.

Should I add Equilibrium when topping up evaporated aquarium water?
No. Do not use Equilibrium when replacing evaporated water.

How much Equilibrium do I use for 80 L of RO water?
Add 16 g (1 tablespoon) per 80 L to raise GH by 1 meq/L (3 dH).

Will the water look cloudy after dosing?
A slight haze may occur after adding the pre-mixed solution. It should clear within 15–30 minutes.

Does Equilibrium raise carbonate hardness (KH)?
Equilibrium raises essential mineral content and GH. For KH maintenance, Seachem recommends Alkaline Buffer.

Is compacted Equilibrium still usable?
Yes. Equilibrium may compact with age, but remains effective.

• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
