Seachem Pond Matrix is a high-porosity pond biofilter media for pond keepers who need high-capacity biological filtration to manage ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Its internal macroporous structure provides a large surface area for beneficial aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in wet or wet-dry pond filtration systems.

How to Use

• Use Seachem Pond Matrix in any pond filter, following the filter manufacturer's recommendations.
• Pond Matrix is sufficiently large that a filter bag should not be necessary.
• For aquatic plants, use Pond Matrix directly on the pond bottom or in planting pots as a clean soil replacement and support for root development.
• It may be used alone, mixed with river rock, or layered over river rock.
• When using it on the pond bottom, pre-soak Pond Matrix for several days so that it becomes water-logged and sinks.
• Be aware that high water current can disrupt Pond Matrix when it is used on the pond bottom.

Dosage

• Use 1–2 Liters of Pond Matrix for each 100 US gallons.
• For filtration use, the directions specify 2 Liters of Pond Matrix for each 200 gallons of water.

Can I rinse Pond Matrix when cleaning my pond filter?
Yes. Most of the bacteria are internal to the media, so Pond Matrix may be rinsed when needed without damaging the filter.

Does Seachem Pond Matrix need to be replaced?
No. Pond Matrix is completely inert and is designed not to break down, so it should not need replacing.

Can Pond Matrix be used for aquatic plants in a South African pond?

Do I need a filter bag for Pond Matrix?

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.

Please ensure you collect your parcel within the applicable collection period. Uncollected parcels will be returned to the sender, and additional shipping charges may apply should the order need to be resent.
