Description
Seachem Reef Dip
Seachem Reef Dip is a coral disinfectant for marine aquarium keepers treating new or affected coral specimens before introduction to the display tank. This elemental iodine complex is held in a protective slime coat to provide a gentle dipping treatment for stony and soft corals, as well as anemones and polyps.
Key Benefits
- Contains an elemental iodine complex for disinfecting corals against bacteria, fungus and protozoans.
- The protective slime coat complex helps hold iodine in contact with the affected site for extended periods.
- The slime coat also helps prevent infection from re-entering the site.
- Can be used prophylactically before adding new corals to a marine aquarium, or when treating diseased specimens.
- Suitable for both stony and soft corals, plus anemones and polyps.
How to Use
- Use Seachem Reef Dip only in a separate dip container; do not add it directly to the aquarium.
- Remove water from the source aquarium and place it in a suitable dipping container.
- Mix the required dose, then place the coral specimen in the prepared dip for 5–10 minutes according to the severity of the problem.
- For clear, accessible lesions, the concentrate may be painted directly onto the lesion before dipping.
- Observe animals during treatment for adverse reactions, including excessive sliming.
- A prepared dip solution may be used for up to one day, then must be discarded.
Dosage
- Add 5 mL (1 capful) to 4 L (1 gallon) of water taken from the source aquarium.
- In very severe cases, a double dose may be used.
Suitable For
- Stony corals
- Soft corals
- Anemones
- Polyps
