Seachem Vibrant Salt is a highly concentrated, fast-dissolving marine salt blend for marine, reef and closed reef aquarium systems. Formulated to replicate natural seawater conditions, it is suited to saltwater fish, plants and reef environments where stable calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, strontium and pH are important.

How to Use

• Mix with dechlorinated tap water or purified water. A commercial dechlorinator such as Seachem Prime may be used to neutralise tap-water chlorine and chloramines.
• For extremely poor source water, purification with a Seachem Pinnacle RO/DI system is recommended.
• Stir thoroughly until dissolved. Avoid excessive mixing, which may cause temporary cloudiness that dissipates after adding the solution to the aquarium.
• Measure specific gravity and adjust as needed: add more salt if it is too low, or more dechlorinated or purified water if it is too high.
• Never mix salt in an aquarium containing animals. In new aquariums, add animals only after the salt is fully mixed, aerated and the specific gravity has been adjusted.

Dosage

• For a specific gravity of 1.020, add 27 g per 1 litre of water, or use 1/2 cup per 6 L (1.58 US gallons).
• For a specific gravity of 1.023, add 31 g per 1 litre of water, or use 1/2 cup per 5.25 L (1.38 US gallons).
• 540 g prepares 20 litres of saltwater at 1.020 specific gravity; 620 g prepares 20 litres at 1.023.
• For reef aquariums, a specific gravity of 1.020–1.025 at 24°C (75°F) is recommended.

Can Seachem Vibrant Salt be mixed directly in my aquarium?
No. Never mix the salt in an aquarium containing animals; prepare the saltwater separately, then ensure it is mixed, aerated and adjusted to the required specific gravity before use.

How much Vibrant Salt do I use for 1 litre of water?
Use 27 g per litre for a specific gravity of 1.020, or 31 g per litre for 1.023.

What specific gravity should I use for a reef aquarium?
For reef aquariums, the recommended range is 1.020–1.025 at 24°C (75°F).

Can I use South African tap water to prepare saltwater?

Does this marine salt contain nitrate or phosphate?
No. Seachem Vibrant Salt is nitrate- and phosphate-free.

How often should I change water in my marine aquarium?
Change 20% of the aquarium water every two weeks, or as necessary, to maintain optimum water quality.

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
