Tropica 106 Tissue Culture - Cryptocoryne Parva
Tropica 106 Tissue Culture - Cryptocoryne Parva is a slow-growing foreground aquarium plant for aquascapers who want a very small, low-growing Cryptocoryne. It is a live plant supplied as tissue culture in a closed cup, and it suits tanks with medium light and medium CO2.
About This Plant
Cryptocoryne parva from Sri Lanka is the smallest of all the Cryptocorynes, at only 3-6 cm (1.2-2.4") tall with a rosette less than 5-8 cm (2-3.1") wide. Unlike most of its relatives, it does not significantly change its leaf shape or colour with growing conditions. That makes it a predictable, compact choice for the front of the tank.
Key Benefits
- The smallest Cryptocoryne, so it works well in the foreground
- Keeps its leaf shape and colour fairly consistently, whatever the cultivation conditions
- Forms a cohesive, low group of plants after about six months
- Slow growth keeps it compact
- Supplied as tissue culture in a closed cup
How to Use
- Plant it in the foreground, spacing individual plants a few centimetres apart. After about six months they will form a cohesive low group.
- Give it more light than most other Cryptocorynes need. It almost loses its leaf plate under water, so never let other plants overshadow it.
- Growth is slow, but Nutrition Capsules placed in the bottom layer will enhance its development.
Suitable For
- Foreground planting in aquascapes and planted aquariums

- Aquarists who want a small, slow-growing Cryptocoryne with a stable appearance
