Description

Tropica 143 Tissue Culture - Lobelia cardinalis Mini

Tropica 143 Tissue Culture - Lobelia cardinalis Mini is a live aquatic stem plant with low, dense growth and light green leaves. It suits aquarists who want a compact, bushy plant for aquascaping, and it has low light and CO2 demands.

About This Plant

Plants sometimes surprise growers by suddenly deviating from the way they normally grow. This is called a mutation, and Lobelia cardinalis 'Mini' is a good example. It originated from the general production of Lobelia cardinalis. Its light green leaves sit closer together than on the original Lobelia, and the whole plant is significantly smaller, hence the 'Mini' in its name.

Key Benefits

  • Low, dense growth, because the plant branches willingly even without trimming
  • Attractive light green leaves, set closer together than on the original Lobelia cardinalis
  • Rarely forms the long vertical shoots that otherwise characterise Lobelia cardinalis
  • Easy to propagate from cut shoots
  • Low light and low CO2 demand, with a medium growth rate

How to Use

  • To propagate, plant cut shoots down into the bottom layer.
  • For the most compact growth, provide good light and added CO2.
  • The plant also thrives well without added CO2.

Suitable For

Freshwater aquariums where you want a low, dense, light green stem plant for decoration. It is a live aquatic aquarium plant.
