Aquavitro Reef Calcification is a concentrated marine calcium supplement for reef aquarium keepers who want to restore and maintain calcium for healthy coral and coralline algae growth. Made by Seachem’s Aquavitro range, it supplies 140,000 mg/L of ionic and bioavailable gluconate-complexed calcium without affecting aquarium pH.

How It Works
The ionic calcium fraction is immediately available to reef livestock, while the gluconate-complexed calcium is more easily absorbed by corals and other invertebrates. The polymer can also provide a food source for corals, invertebrates and denitrifying bacteria in live rock and substrate, supporting natural anaerobic denitrification.

Dosage
For beginners, add 5 mL per 70 L of aquarium water twice weekly. Test calcium weekly and adjust the amount or dosing frequency as needed.

For advanced reef aquariums, test calcium first, then dose 5 mL per 70 L until the level reaches 380–400 mg/L. Each 5 mL per 70 L raises calcium by approximately 10 mg/L. Do not exceed 15 mL per 70 L per day. Once the target level is reached, dose as required to maintain it.

Will this calcium supplement affect pH or cause algae?
It is formulated to restore calcium without affecting pH. Its polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorus, so it cannot lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef aquarium.

What should I do if the liquid thickens after the cap was left off?
Evaporation can cause a precipitate to form. Add distilled or RO/DI water to the bottle, close it securely and shake vigorously until the precipitate returns to solution.
