JBL Pro Scape Volcano Mineral is used in aquascaping to provide a stable foundation for plants and structures while supplying essential minerals and facilitating beneficial bacteria growth.
Aquascaping refers to designing aquarium landscapes. It involves creating plant arrangements, recreations of land above water, or natural biotopes. An aquascaping aquarium typically contains few or no fish and invertebrates. This reduces the nutrient supply for the plants and limits their growth. Nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and other minerals become scarce and need to be carefully and precisely re-dosed. For healthy growth and a beautiful underwater landscape, plants require light, CO2, and the right nutrients.
Volcanic rock
The highly porous volcanic rock serves important functions in an aquascaping aquarium. First, it provides a stable foundation for additional rock structures or root wood, preventing them from slipping downward through the soil. Second, many beneficial bacteria settle inside its porous structure.
The porousness of the rock structure also enables the nutrient to penetrate it and it thus supplies numerous minerals enabling the plants to take root and grow well inside it.
