How the Structure Works

At the core of each plug is a mass of tiny globules, positioned close together with just a single point of contact between each pair. That deliberate arrangement leaves gaps between the globules, so water can move smoothly through the plug. This supports good circulation and filtration through the media.

The Technology Behind It

The design is inspired by the aerated biological filter (W-BAF) used in wastewater treatment. In those applications the globules are not normally shaped into spheres, blocks or plugs. Instead, they are used in a way similar to a sandbed. Maxspect recognised that this approach is impractical for aquaristics, so it used a patented technology to form the globules into balls, blocks and plugs. The result is an aquarist-friendly format that makes this technology much simpler to incorporate into an aquarium setup.

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
