Description

Pond Medic Anti Chlorine

Pond Medic Anti Chlorine is an advanced pond conditioner that removes toxic chlorine and heavy metals from tap water, making it safe for aquatic life in freshwater ponds. It suits any pond keeper who tops up or changes water from the tap and wants to protect their fish while doing so.

Key Benefits

  • Rapidly conditions tap water by removing toxic chlorine and heavy metals such as zinc and copper.
  • Untreated tap water contains chlorine and heavy metal substances that make it unsafe for all aquatic organisms. This conditioner deals with both.
  • Provides fish with a natural protective slime coating.
  • That slime coating can be damaged by netting, spawning, injury, disease and other stressful times, so the conditioner also works as a stress reliever.
  • Designed for freshwater ponds.

When to Use It
Use it whenever you do a water change or add tap water to a pond that contains aquatic organisms. Treat the fresh water every time, to protect your fish and to help them through stressful periods.

How to Use

  • Work out the volume of water in your pond. Multiply length by width (in metres) to get the surface area, then multiply by the average depth to get the volume in cubic metres. Multiply that figure by 1000 to get litres: Length x Width x Average Depth (in metres) x 1000 = litres.
  • Fill a bucket with water and dose into the bucket first.
  • Shake the bottle vigorously before every application.
  • Treat fresh water every time you top up or do a water change.

Dosage

  • Add 1 ml per 40 litres of fresh water.
  • Add 10 ml per 400 litres of fresh water.

Suitable For

  • Freshwater ponds containing fish and other aquatic organisms.
  • Topping up evaporated pond water with tap water.
  • Partial or full water changes using tap water.
  • Times when fish are stressed, for example after netting, spawning, injury or disease.

Specifications

  • Composition: sodium hyposulphite in an aqueous solution, natural polymers.

Safety Information

  • Poisonous. Keep out of reach of children.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
  • Not to be used on fish intended for human consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to treat the water every time I top up my pond?
Yes. Treat fresh water every time you top up or do a water change, whenever tap water is added to a pond containing aquatic life.

Which heavy metals does it remove?
It removes heavy metals from tap water, including zinc and copper, along with toxic chlorine.

How do I work out how much water my pond holds?
Multiply length by width by average depth, all in metres, then multiply the result by 1000 to get litres. Use that volume, or the volume of fresh water being added, to calculate your dose.

Why dose into a bucket first?
The directions say to dose into a bucket of water first. Shake the bottle vigorously before every application so the contents are properly mixed.

How much do I add for a 400 litre top-up?
The rate is 10 ml per 400 litres of fresh water, or 1 ml per 40 litres. Check the dosing on the bottle label as well before you treat.

Can I use it on fish that will be eaten?
No. It is not to be used on fish intended for human consumption.

How do I choose the right bottle size?
Choose by your pond volume and how often you top up or change water. Because the dose is 1 ml per 40 litres of fresh water, larger ponds and frequent water changes use more product.
