Pond Medic Parasite Clear is a pond medication for treating protozoan parasites, fungal infections and Camallanus roundworm in Koi, Goldfish and Live-bearers. It also helps protect fish from infection during transport and handling, which makes it a useful product for South African pond keepers to have on hand.

How to Use

• Stop feeding during treatment.
• Calculate your pond volume accurately: Length x Width x Average Depth (in metres) x 1000 = litres.
• Shake the bottle vigorously before every application.
• Switch off the U.V. sterilizer.
• Remove absorbent materials such as carbon and zeolite from the system.
• Check water conditions during and after treatment, especially pH, nitrate and ammonia.
• Medications may reduce oxygen levels, so increase aeration with an airpump or waterfall.
• Observe your fish throughout treatment and take appropriate action if they react adversely.
• After treatment, re-seed the biological filter and allow adequate time before normal feeding is continued.

Dosage

• For fish spawn: add 1m per 100 of pond water.
• For treating infected fish: add 1m per 30 of pond water.
• Rates are given here exactly as the manufacturer states them, so confirm the measuring unit on the product label before dosing.
• For Camallanus roundworm (red worms protruding from the anus): mix part food with 1 part medication, let it dry, then feed to the fish for 3 days. Check the label for the food portion in the mix.
• Scaleless catfish and certain other sensitive species do not tolerate this medication well. Use half the dosage on these fish.
