This 300 g (10.6 oz) pack helps aquarists recreate regionally appropriate brackish-water conditions without relying on simple sodium chloride-based aquarium salts.

How to Use

Use when setting up an aquarium and during water changes. Dissolve the salt in freshwater before adding it to the aquarium. When adding to an established tank, introduce it gradually. Do not add salt when only replacing water lost through evaporation.

Dosage

• Livebearers: 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons).
• Yucatan or Sri Lanka estuary fish, including archers, chromides and some mollies: 15 g (~2 teaspoons) for each 12 L (3 US gallons).
• Thailand, Cambodia, Borneo or Sumatra estuary fish, including Datnioides: 40 g (~2 tablespoons) per 12 L (3 US gallons).
• Scats: up to 80 g (~4 tablespoons) per 12 L (3 US gallons). This dose is not for planted aquaria.
• Mixed populations: use an average dose representative of the species present.
• General aquarium salt use for mineral replacement: 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons).

Does this aquarium salt change pH or buffer the water?
No. Seachem Brackish Salt does not impact pH and does not provide buffering.

How much should I use for guppies, platies or swordtails?
Use 20 g (~1 tablespoon) for each 40 L (10 US gallons) for livebearers such as guppies, swordtails, platies and some mollies.

Should I add more salt when aquarium water evaporates?
No. Avoid adding salt when simply replacing evaporated water.

Can this be used for a mixed brackish fish aquarium?
Yes. For mixed populations, use an average dose that represents the species in the aquarium.

Should the salt be added directly to the aquarium?

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
