Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium is a concentrated powdered ionic calcium supplement for marine reef aquariums, supplied in a 250 g container. It is designed for reef keepers maintaining calcium levels for coral growth while also supplying magnesium and strontium in proportionate amounts.

This non-caustic formula has a pH of 8.3–8.6 and is formulated to restore and maintain calcium at levels found in natural seawater. Unlike limewater (kalkwasser), it does not have a caustic pH and will not deplete magnesium.

Dosage

• Beginner: Use 5 g (1 level teaspoon) per 150 L (40 gallons) twice weekly. Dissolve in at least 250 mL (1 cup) of freshwater. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust the amount or frequency accordingly.
• Advanced: Test calcium, then use the above regimen until calcium reaches 380–420 mg/L. Each 5 g per 150 L raises calcium by approximately 12 mg/L. Do not exceed 10 g per 150 L per day.
• Expert: For continuous drip dosing, use m=vc/400, where m is grams to add to top-off water, v is aquarium volume in litres and c is the desired calcium increase in mg/L.

Compatibility

• Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement.
• Add calcium and carbonate additives on alternate days, or at least 30 minutes apart.
• When used with Reef Calcium™, it is not necessary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium.
• Use Reef Status™: Calcium to measure calcium.
