Seachem Reef Iron is a concentrated iron supplement for reef aquariums, formulated for marine aquarists maintaining corals and macroalgae. It supplies 5,000 mg/L iron to help support metabolic processes, protein synthesis, growth and colouration in reef systems.

How to Use

Dose manually as required, or use with an aquavitro® sentia™ dose doser to help maintain a consistent iron concentration according to your aquarium’s demand. Test and adjust dosing to suit the desired iron level in your reef tank.

Dosage

• Beginner: Use ½ cap (2.5 ml) per 160 litres (40 US gallons) twice a week, or as needed to maintain the desired iron level.
• This dose raises iron by 0.08 mg/L.
• Advanced: To target a specific iron increase, use the formula: 0.195vn=m, where v = aquarium volume in litres, n = desired iron increase, and m = volume of product to use in ml.
• Example: to raise iron by 0.08 mg/L in 160 litres, calculate 0.195 × 160 × 0.08 = 2.5 ml.

Suitable For

Marine reef aquariums containing corals and macroalgae. Natural seawater generally contains 0.003–0.01 mg/L iron. Reef aquariums are often maintained at higher levels for colouration and growth, while 0.05–0.1 mg/L may be beneficial for macroalgae growth.

Compatibility

Seachem Reef Iron can be used alongside Reef Nitrogen™, Reef Phosphorus™ and Reef Potassium™ to maintain nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium levels.

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
