Seachem Reef Nitrogen is a concentrated nitrogen supplement for reef aquariums, formulated for marine aquarists maintaining corals and macroalgae. It provides nitrogen in a fully testable form, allowing you to raise and manage nitrogen levels without adding phosphate or dissolved organics.

Nitrogen is required for metabolic processes, protein synthesis and the growth of corals and macroalgae. Maintaining nitrogen alongside phosphorus can support coral and macroalgae growth and coloration, while allowing you to adjust nitrogen levels according to your aquarium’s individual demand.

Dosage

Use 1 cap (5 mL) per 160 litres (40 US gallons) twice a week, or as needed to maintain the desired nitrate level. For new aquariums or tanks with low coral populations, begin with ¼ to ½ dose and gradually increase as necessary.

The beginner dose raises nitrogen by 0.78 mg/L, or approximately 3.5 mg/L nitrate. Ideal nitrogen levels vary, but generally range from 1–2 mg/L, equivalent to 4.4–8.9 mg/L nitrate.

How to Use

For a specific nitrate increase, use the formula: 0.009vn=m, where v is the aquarium volume in litres, n is the desired nitrate increase, and m is the volume of product to use in mL. For example, raising 160 litres by 3.5 mg/L nitrate requires 0.009 × 160 × 3.5, resulting in a 5 mL dose.

Compatibility

Seachem Reef Nitrogen can be used with Seachem Reef Phosphorus to help achieve a balanced nitrogen-to-phosphorus level. It is ideally suited to use with an aquavitro sentia dose doser, but is also easily dosed by hand.

Collection timeframes:

• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
