Gammarus pulex has always been the preferred natural food for carnivorous terrapins. This is because of its high-quality nutritional profile and, traditionally, its wide availability. However, climate change has affected this source too. In 2021, the waters where gammarus is harvested became warmer, and this reduced harvest levels.

Catching gammarus sustainably is very important to sera, because only sustainable harvesting helps preserve the species over the long term. sera therefore decided to add shrimps to the Raffy I recipe. The shrimps replace 50% of the original gammarus content. Because shrimps contain more protein, they give the food an even better dietary balance. The gammarus that remains in the recipe still provides the animals with calcium, magnesium, trace elements and beta carotene.

The analytical constituents declare 5.0% calcium, 1.2% phosphorus and 57.5% crude protein, along with 7.0% crude fat and 6.0% crude fibre.
