Why Algae Control Matters

Algae look unsightly and can inhibit the growth of aquarium plants. Over the long term they also upset the biological balance of the tank. Algae tend to take hold when the tank gets too much light or when nutrients are in surplus. To prevent them, reduce the algae nutrients phosphate (PO4) and nitrate (NO3-), for example with Tetra EasyBalance. Regular use of a dedicated anti-algae agent can also help with prevention.

How to Use

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Add the liquid directly to the aquarium water.
• Keep the product away from sunlight.
• Switch off the UV clarifier while treating.
• Make sure the tank is aerated, as aeration is required.
• Activated carbon filtration reduces the effectiveness of the treatment.
• Where possible, remove dead algae mechanically (for example by hand or with a net or siphon).
