Description

Pond Medic Fungus Clear

Pond Medic Fungus Clear is a pond medication for treating a range of fungus and bacteria-related conditions in ornamental pond fish. It suits pond keepers who spot cottony growths, red streaking, rotting fins or a bloated fish and need a dosing routine they can follow with a bucket and a measuring spoon or cap.

Key Benefits

  • Treats several fungus and bacteria-related conditions with one product
  • Covers cotton fungus (columnaris), hemorrhagic septicaemia (red streaks in the fins and body), grey body slime (costiasis), fish bloat (dropsy), gill disease, fin and tail rot, cloudy eyes and swim bladder disease
  • Simple dose rate of 5 ml per 350 L of pond water
  • Applied through a bucket of pre-mixed water poured into the pond inlet

Recognising the Conditions

  • Fungus: a white or grey cottony growth or patches on parts of the fish
  • Tail, fin or mouth rot: flesh eaten away around the mouth, tail or fins, or simply redness at the base of the tail, fin or mouth
  • Hemorrhagic septicaemia: red streaks on the tail fins or body with no sign of skin damage, and clamped fins held close to the body
  • Dropsy (fish bloat): a bloated fish with scales standing out like a pinecone

How to Use

  • Work out the volume of your pond. Multiply the surface area (length x width, in metres) by the average depth to get cubic metres, then multiply by 1000 to get litres. In short: Length x Width x Average Depth (in metres) x 1000 = litres.
  • Fill a bucket with water.
  • Shake the bottle vigorously before every application.
  • Add the calculated dose to the bucket and mix well.
  • Pour the medicated water from the bucket into the inlet of the pond.
  • On day 3, do a 25% water change and repeat the treatment. Reduce the dosage so that it only treats the replaced water.

Dosage

  • Add 5ml per 350L of pond water.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which conditions is Fungus Clear used for?
It treats cotton fungus (columnaris), hemorrhagic septicaemia, grey body slime (costiasis), fish bloat (dropsy), gill disease, fin and tail rot, cloudy eyes and swim bladder disease in ornamental pond fish.

How much do I add to my pond?
Add 5ml per 350L of pond water. Work out your pond volume first: length x width x average depth in metres, multiplied by 1000, gives litres.

Do I pour it straight into the pond?
No. Mix the calculated dose into a bucket of water first, then pour the medicated water into the pond inlet. Shake the bottle vigorously before every application.

Do a 25% water change and repeat the treatment. Reduce the dose so that it only treats the replaced water.
