Unlike standard ion-exchange media, Purigen is designed specifically to attract organic waste. Its spherical, macroreticular bead structure includes microscopic pores that increase working surface area well beyond that of ordinary smooth resin beads. This gives it strong performance in tanks with fish, corals or plants that continuously produce organic waste.

How to Use
Rinse before use and place the media in a fine mesh filter bag. Use in your filter where water can flow through it effectively. Exhaustion is shown by a clear colour shift from pale blonde to dark brown or black.

Dosing and Capacity
Each 1 litre treats up to 4,000 litres of aquarium water for up to six months, depending on bioload and water conditions.

Regeneration
Soak exhausted Purigen in a 1:1 bleach:water solution for 24 hours in a non-metallic container, in a well-ventilated area and away from children. Use regular 8.25% hypochlorite household bleach only; it must be unscented, contain no dyes and must not be splash-less bleach. Rinse well, then soak for 8 hours in a solution containing 4 tablespoons of Prime or an equivalent dechlorinator per cup of water. Rinse well again. For freshwater use, soak for 4 hours in a solution containing 2 tablespoons of buffer per cup of water, such as Discus Buffer or Neutral Regulator. Do not reuse if any bleach or chlorine smell remains.

Important Notes
Some slime coat products may permanently foul the resin and make regeneration difficult. If unsure after regeneration, soak the beads in a small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine before placing them back into the aquarium.

Collection timeframes:

• Bob Box: Collect within 2 days of receiving your collection notification.
• PUDO Lockers: Collect within 36 hours of receiving your collection PIN or SMS notification.

If a PUDO parcel is not collected within 36 hours, it will automatically be transferred to the nearest PUDO Kiosk or Depot at no additional cost. The parcel will then be held there for approximately 2 days before being returned.
